Non-standard automotive tensioner bearings are mainly suitable for special automotive transmission system situations that cannot meet the standard bearing size, performance or structure. Its application scenarios and characteristics are as follows:


1. Core application scenarios

Special model adaptation

Micro/compact cars: Micro cars such as the Wuling Rongguang B12 have limited engine compartment space and need to customize smaller tensioner bearings to adapt to the narrow installation environment.

High-performance or modified vehicles: Some high-performance models or modified vehicles have extremely high precision requirements for the transmission system, and need to optimize tension control through non-standard bearings to reduce belt slippage or wear.

Non-standard transmission system design

Multi-belt transmission system: Some models use a complex transmission layout with multiple belts (such as a common belt for generators, air-conditioning compressors, and water pumps). Non-standard bearings are required to adjust the position or angle of the tensioner to ensure balanced tension of each belt.

Special belt types: If reinforced belts or special-shaped belts (such as toothed belts, poly-V belts) are used, the bearings need to be customized to match the belt profile to prevent early failure.

Extreme working conditions

High-temperature environment: For example, around a turbocharged engine, high-temperature resistant non-standard bearings (such as using special grease or sealing structure) are required to prevent lubrication failure.

High-vibration environment: When off-road vehicles or heavy-duty trucks drive on bumpy roads, the transmission system vibrates violently, requiring high-strength non-standard bearings to improve impact resistance.

2. The core advantages of non-standard bearings

Size customization

The outer diameter, inner diameter or width of the bearing can be adjusted according to the installation space limitations. For example, the standard 6203 bearing (outer diameter 40mm) can be customized into a non-standard model with an outer diameter of 38mm, suitable for compact engine compartments.

Performance optimization

Improved load-carrying capacity: By optimizing raceway design or materials (such as using high-carbon chromium bearing steel GCr15), the rated dynamic load is increased from the standard 13.5kN to more than 15kN, extending the service life.

Friction coefficient reduction: Use special cages (such as nylon cages) or surface treatments (such as phosphating treatment) to reduce the friction coefficient from 0.002 to 0.0015 to reduce energy loss.

structural innovation

Integrated design: Integrate the inner ring of the bearing with the tensioner arm to reduce the number of parts and assembly errors (such as integrating three parts of a separable bearing into one).

Double-row raceway structure: When the radial space is limited, a double-row ball design is used to increase the load-bearing capacity by 40% under the same outer diameter.

Toyota Hilux

Compatible model: 13505-67040 non-standard tensioner bearing. By widening the bearing width (from 12mm to 15mm), it improves the lateral force resistance and solves the problem that the original vehicle bearing is easy to deflect under heavy load.

Mitsubishi series models

Single-wheel tensioner bearings (such as JPU50-69NEP50-017B) are used, and the raceway curvature radius is optimized (adjusted from R2.5mm to R3mm) to reduce stress concentration and extend the bearing life from 80,000 kilometers to 120,000 kilometers.

Volkswagen Audi engine timing system

Customized model: 04C109479H non-standard bearing, using ceramic balls (Si3N4) instead of steel balls, raising the upper limit of operating temperature from 120°C to 180°C, adapting to the high temperature environment of turbocharged engines.
